About Keith

Keith Downey was born and raised in the Morningside neighborhood of Edina. He is the son of a school teacher, one of four children of Art and Joanne Downey. Keith graduated from Edina East High School in 1979, and received his BBA degree from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire in 1983.

Keith's current and previous charitable and community involvement includes:

  • Board of Governors, Opportunity International
  • Edina Rotary
  • Steering Committee, Minnesota Business Ethics Award
  • Corporate support of Camp Courage, VEAP, and United Way
  • Youth coach - soccer, volleyball, and baseball
  • Treasurer, Southview Parent Council
  • Volunteer: Feed My Starving Children, Paint-a-Thon, Families Moving Forward, Camp Courage
  • Church council, small group leader, mentor

Keith and his wife Amy have three children. The Downey family loves the outdoors, and is active in sports and community groups. They are active members of Christ Presbyterian Church in Edina.

Keith is a retired Partner of Virchow Krause Consulting. He spent over eight years advising state agencies and large county and city governments on strategy, operations, and technology. Previously he spent thirteen years in the technology industry.
